Intrinsic Desire Poem by Philip Janssens

Intrinsic Desire

When I look into your brown eyes
a muddy staircase I see
Going up looking down
Fragile agility
Fearing the vast abyss

Don't be afraid the road ahead is safe
Mesmerized by your beauty
I'm weeping the mud away
I wanna hold you tight
Here by my side
I stop crying

You slip in the treacherous mud
and take a deep dive
I'll start crying again
But all in vain
and then you blink

A shyly smile is all I produce
You saved me again

I love the way you gaze at me
I love the way you make me happy
I love the way you're always there
And the way you show you care
