Invisable Ink Upon A Face So Cheap Poem by nicola burkett

Invisable Ink Upon A Face So Cheap

It always starts with goodbyes
That look of guilt that you posess
With fake tears in your eyes
Hidden smiles drawn with invisable ink
Upon a face so cheap
I let the monsters come, I let the monsters reap

Blinding my better judgment of you
Numbness takes over, My defence walls lower
Enduring this heartache you put me through
The windows to your soul, they pick me up
Then dropp me down again in a heap
I let the monsters come, I let the monsters reap

It always starts with goodbyes
But somehow i let myself
Swallow your ash tasting lies
The smiles you paint on with invisable ink
Upon your face so cheap
I let the monsters come, I let the monsters reap

The smell of the devil upon your breath
Poisoned words decay in the air
I hex you, I condem you
As you maim without reason or care
Like a doll on your shelf i sit
Like a possession you thrive to keep
I ask the monster to come
I ask the monster to reap
