Iran And Afghanistan Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Iran And Afghanistan

Iran and Afghanistan

During the cold war
-the Yankees knew not
-of afghan; except dog
-it differed for Iran, Pakistan

But still, thanks to the music and Beatles
-Ravi Shankar and Sitar
-mainly George Harrison's ‘Sweet Lord'
-some youths went there to inhale the drugs in Kabul

Reason was too simple, the Afghans could not be important
-for those in Washington until came Kremlin
-took steps and spent millions, changed the things
-new race started in space; no Laika or Yuri Gagarin
-the Yankees carried bags, all full of ‘Greenback'
-used the banks in darkness and secret,

But today, in these days
-anyone, anywhere on map of USA
-is aware of Afghans by a killed or injured

History is Mary Go-around
-it repeats its mistakes on and off
-now time is for Iran

As someone who loves peace
-and intends to please
-every single person
-in corners of the world

(All of faiths and cultures
-and ages and genders)

I insist my friends
-do your best to retain
-the lost rein to the beast
-control government

Don't let it go too far
-do not let Kremlin
-to affirm its grip
