Iris Poem by David Olughu

Iris

Fire and ice.

Like fireflies
and tingling skies

Sporadically beating heart
and an elation of emotions;
I just saw a goddess, now I realise.

I wish all these weren't real and lies,
but unfortunately, I've been enchanted
like blue eyes on blue ice
by the fire in your eyes.
