Is He The Man Of The House Poem by Randy McClave

Is He The Man Of The House

He says that he is the man of the house
His subject and servant is his spouse,
He makes all the decisions and all the calls
Because, as he says he is the one with the balls.
In his house he proclaims he alone is the king
Laws and rules he alone will bring,
He controls how their money is always spent
From every dollar, and unto every red cent.
If you don't believe him, he tells you to ask his wife
She will admit he is King without worries or strife,
And whatever he commands she will always do
But, first they will always talk it through.
He tells her what to buy and what bills to pay
Because, he doesn't have a job today,
And he also tells her what to cook for dinner
But, usually they'll order out because she's the breadwinner.
She tells him what to believe and what to speak
She tells him when to turn the other cheek,
And he will tell everyone with a win and not a loss
That he is indeed is his wife's boss.
When he awakes every morning with a feeling to confess
After his wife lays out the clothes for him to dress,
When he wants her and the world to look up to him
All that they see is a stupid guy from the gym.
Of course she is not at all a beauty herself
She doesn't have religion, diplomacy, kindness only her wealth,
But, really no admiration for husband is truly felt
He wears the pants, but of course she carries the belt.
