Is It A Fine Tale? Poem by Collins Gachomo

Is It A Fine Tale?

Opiyo and Sharon, a tale to tell,
Of love that soured, and went to hell.

Opiyo was unfaithful, it's true,
To his sweet girlfriend, Sharon too.
But after much regret and tears,
She forgave him, put aside her fears.

But when Sharon's heart began to stray,
Opiyo's temper came out to play.
He became hostile, angry, and mean,
Refusing to speak, to hear or to glean.

It wasn't fair, it wasn't right,
For Opiyo to pick up such a fight.
But love is never black and white,
It can be fickle, or burn bright.

At last, they talked, and made amends,
Though they knew the road ahead would not be easy to mend.
For trust is fragile, hard to sustain,
And love requires effort, to keep it from wane.

So Opiyo and Sharon, though they've been through a lot,
Decided to give it another shot.
And even if they falter, and they fall,
They'll pick each other up, and start again, standing tall.
