Is It True? - Poem by jess schwarcz

Sometimes I wonder if it’s true,
Is the sky really blue?
Light to dark blue?
Or if it’s just a dream,
Everyone’s dreamed of?

Just an empty space full of oxygen?
Is it really true?
Is the sky really seen as blue?
Or is it seen as a forgotten green?

Sometimes I wonder if it’s true,
If you can really fly?
Fly away across the bright blue sky?
Or if it’s just a dream,
Everyone’s dreamed of?

Fly away from your thoughts,
And the world all around.
Is it true, you can really fly?
Fly away from your life,
Away to another sky?

Sometimes I wonder if it’s true,
Is there another world out there?
So far away we can only imagine?
Or if it’s just a dream,
Everyone’s dreamed of?

A world more complex than us?
A world without confusion and weariness?
A world without anger and wars?
A world where everyone cares,
And never wants more?

Sometimes I wonder if it’s really true,
Can you really fly,
Into a so called, “sky? ”
To a world you can only imagine,
Or if it’s just a dream,
Everyone’s dreamed of?
