Is Not My Foe Poem by Francis Duggan

Is Not My Foe

Rating: 4.5

He used to be my friend a long time ago
And though nowadays I cannot say he is my foe
On our views on people and politics and life we do not agree
The bond of friendship has weakened between him and me
Though nowadays when we meet we dotalk of the past
Of the long gone Seasons and of how time ticks on fast
Apart from this we have little for to talk about
Since for peace sake many subjects between us are out
Though I am of the far political left and he is of the far political right
With him I have no wish for to pick a verbal fight
Of the things that divide us we do not venture near
Of some subjects nowadays we tend to stay clear
We used to be good friends a long time ago
And though our bond of friendship has weakened he is not my foe.
