Is That You Call Godliness? Poem by Amitava Sur

Is That You Call Godliness?

Rating: 4.7

Hemming a wish within myself
With all my fervor and zeal,
Fancying or fantasizing
To keep you as a princess with all ambiance,

Accumulating all happiness and peace
To keep in front of your feet,
Wanting to see my love
With full content and grace.

But a sudden gust of wind rammed on the door,
Breaking my small castle.
My those fantasies are just delusions now,
Vanquishing all those dreams.

What a quirk of fate I’m witnessing now
Being so forlorn by losing my love.
Throne is there with the estate intact
But the princess is not in sight! !

Rows of defeats have crippled me
And shunted me in a dark cave.

All my dreams thus eroded
My love and I are separated
The zeal to live has evaporated,
Leaving me broken and so alone!

My existence now, as I find it
To be so meaningless and a farce.

How could You be so mean
And do that foul to me?
So cruelly, so untimely
And so unreasonably too!

Your this godliness reminds me
of a nemesis only! !

Fantastically beautiful! Filled with all the elements of going through loss and grief, Amitava. Loneliness, emptiness, abandonment, anger, questioning why! Your words will help others going through the same thing, Amitava. Very well written with deep feeling and emotion! Thank you for sharing your heart! RoseAnn
