Is Their Business Poem by Francis Duggan

Is Their Business

Though you never harm anyone in any sort of a way
Why does it affect you what others of you does say
They do not buy you food or your rent or home mortgage does not pay
Sadly their sort are not rare in the Human World of today
Barring in their words they do not lie about you nothing about this you can do
Their words tell you more of the sort they are than what they say of you
There are judgmental people in every town
Who enjoy in their words on putting others down
Since you will not be turning to them if of help you are in need
Of their negative opinions on you why pay any heed
Tomorrow to criticize they will find somebody new
Of verbal targets they do have quite a few
That what others think of you is their business happens to be true
And should not be of any imporatnce to you.
