Is This Truly Me? Poem by Corvette Nezumi Mikazuki

Is This Truly Me?

A heart full of darkness
“is this truly mine? ”
I can’t help but wonder what this dark aura engulfing me is
“is this truly me? ”

A room full of darkness
“is this truly mine? ”
Shadows covering every wall for no light to ever escape
“is this truly me? ”

A hand full of darkness
“is this truly mine? ”
It crawls along my flesh leaving a scared trail behind
“is this truly me? ”

A heart full of sorrow
“why is this mine? ”
Pain chaining itself together to a bond of agony
“is this truly me? ”

A room full of sorrow
“why is this mine? ”
Memories which long to be forgotten flutter the room
“is this truly me? ”

A arm full of sorrow
“why is this mine? ”
Blood and tears leave a saddening story
“is this truly me? ”

All I am is memories of the darkness and pain I have faced
All I am is a story told by scars
“is this all I am? ”
“is this TRULY me? ”
