It Begs Me Not To Touch It... Poem by RIC BASTASA

It Begs Me Not To Touch It...

then i told myself
i will be responsible for
this, love at its summit,
where i can see all suns
and moons all stars
seemingly not believing
in my goodness anymore.

i found love like a kitten
in the wrong street, emaciated,
and insignificant, it begs me
not to touch it.
