It Cannot Be Never Poem by Francis Duggan

It Cannot Be Never

It cannot be never that the best people are dead
For they are now history their last words are said
So many great people are born today
And life it goes on it's always been this way,
On the enlightened minds genius can only grow
And though people they come and people they go
The works of the great thinkers destined to live on
And the mantle of greatness the great only don
But having said that everyone can be great
Since everybody is born with the gift to create
But some to their gifts never seem to relate
And they grow old to find time for them did not wait
And to those who only need it the most greatness will belong
And those who say the best are long dead have got it all wrong.
