It Could Be A Good Excuse Poem by Christina Ramirez

It Could Be A Good Excuse

Hold my hand when I'm sad
Don't patronize me when I'm mad.

Hug me when see me crying
And take an oath that there will be no lying.

Take care of me when I've been drinking to much
And not get angry when I hang on to you using you as my crutch.

Laugh when I make a joke, even though it's not funny
And far down the road when someone asks what would you rather have love or money....

I hope that you won't pause
Or reconsider and revise all of my embarrassing flaws.

Call me to say hello, good morning or good night
Be a gentleman; courteous and polite.

But have the bad boy side that I'm a sucker for everytime
And listen when I vent or whine.

Don't get angry when I want to smoke
Making a scene that everyone sees as a joke.

Don't pretend to listen when I talk and then lie and say that you had
If I wanted no one to listen to me, I'd go talk to my dad.

But this is just a general message sent to one and all
To the enthusiasts whether they be short or tall.

I give you here and now the keys to my heart
Use your imagination, these are just things to give you a head start....
