It Doesn'T Matter Poem by Francis Duggan

It Doesn'T Matter

It doesn't matter if others they look down on you
If to your higher self you do remain true
If to help poor people out you go out of your way
Without asking for any reward such as pay.

You may be a poor person on a poor street
But you are not one who does live by deceit
And despite your poverty for others you care
Such good people like you are becoming more rare.

It doesn't matter if others don't see you as a success
The watchers for big brother you don't need to impress
To what they think of you to little amount
Since success to them the size of one's bank account.

You never may be in the billionaires club
And you have your few drinks in the poor person's pub
But of your higher self you are all too aware
And with others you are only too willing to share.
