I can write you the most beautiful poems you've ever heard,
which I've done indeed.
I can sing you the most pleasant songs you've ever listened,
that I've sung indeed.
I can put you on a boat of love and sail through endless oceans.
That I tried many times.
I've done all these.
Which didn't work.
Years passed,
and your love, so called, drained away.
My love never ended.
When it was time for me to leave,
I left with all the love I had in me.
Which you didn't believe.
Swear to god,
I did not deceive.
The child in me
couldn't grip that you didn't comprehend that I loved you so much.
Which hurt...
Which still hurts...
And it's too late, I know that.
And maybe you never think of that.
There is no turning back.
Which hurts.
An insightful depiction of the whimsical and temperamental nature of love, well articulated and nicely penned with conviction. Thanks for sharing Abdullah.
