It Is Never The Same Place Twice Poem by Michelle Claus

It Is Never The Same Place Twice

The river beneath a blue-sky Sun
in September
becomes a water-mirror
containing the world
of tender leaves and ancient wood
along a surplus bank
I remember now
all I need
my citron boat
my yellow paddle
my dog
rowing along
rippled reflections
of myself
upon each new wave
a different me

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem was inspired by a set of photos posted on FB by a friend. She spends a lot of her free time on the river, and her photos ignite my senses.
