On January 6,2021, supporters of Donald Trump attacked the U.S. Capitol building, disrupting the joint session of Congress assembled to count electoral votes to formalize Biden's victory in the 2020 United States presidential election. In August 2023, Donald Trump was indicted for his actions of felony and sedition on and around January 6,2021.
