It Is Too Late Tonight For A Poem
IT IS TOO LATE TONIGHT FOR A POEM
It is too late tonight for a poem-
I should have been asleep a few hours ago
I have nothing much to say
And I am tired -
The day has been long and not a particularly successful one-
A poem might change my feeling
And give a sense the day was not wasted
So once again I use my writing
To enhance my own feeling-
But what kind of poem can it be
If only written for me?
