It Never Happened Poem by Sugar Bear

It Never Happened

Rating: 4.5

Broken glass and china sets,
Holes in the wall,
Bruises on my neck,
Rips in my shirt,
Scratches on your arm,
A distant siren alarm.

The neighbors stare and retreat,
Silent whispers, they glare at me
They glare at you,
Through the handcuffs,
I feel we've had enough.

Pretend that we're okay,
What happened then, never was made,
Didn't exist, never became
It all was just a dream.

When you wake, you'll forget,
All the painful things we said,
And the demons we spoke upon another,
You're just dreaming,
It was only just a dream.

Eggs on your plate, smile on your face
Cheerful hug, a loving embrace
No hair of fear, no sense of hate
Just human here, in human state
My love for you, your love for me
Like we used to be.

Console cries, tantrum remarks,
Pierced words right through our hearts,
Of shattered dreams, a broken door,
Papers scattered across the floor.
Crushed cellular, cracked tv screen,
Clothes out the door, was just a dream,
It's just a dream, nothing less,
Nothing more.

When you wake, you'll forget,
All the hateful things we did,
Your memories, our rivalry,
You're just dreaming.
You only dreamed it.
You're dreaming dear, You're dreaming dear
Remember, Nothing happened here
It was a dream, a silly dream
Dear, It was only just a dream.

If only we could erase words said when life gets out of hand... Wipe the slate clean and start again... unfortunately there will always be that spark of rememberance in the back of your minds forever... Alison
