Tonight the hobos do flee, quickly do find shelter
under the roof
at the Palm Springs shopping centre,
while the dogs howl
against the wild stormy wind and pouring rain,
when the branches are jerked up and down
and it's winter and icy cold
and suddenly I feel anciently old.
