It Was A Morning Of Heartfelt Grief Poem by Deanna Samuels

It Was A Morning Of Heartfelt Grief

It was a morning of heartfelt grief
The young woman of past good health
Fell ill, within days, her life was extinguished
Out of the blue, nobody knew from where

With family around her, a precious one passed
A wail of disbelief as her last breath she took
The closest of family were overcome with emotion
Their cries of woe rang throughout the unit

Nurses, doctors and chaplain were there to console
The loss, a young tragic death took its toil
As more family arrived and heard the bad news
Such moments of heartfelt grief filled the air

Too much for some to even bear
Collapsing in a heap in complete disbelief
Three dozen or more gathered to be with each other
Giving support to those nearest to the one that was lost
