It Will Not Matter To Me Then Poem by Francis Duggan

It Will Not Matter To Me Then

When the reaper from me the breath of life take away
It will not matter to me then where my remains will lay
Or if i am remembered or not will not matter to me
Though at least of all worries death does set us free.

Though like all others I've known moments of inner strife
I should not complain since I've known a good life
Millions worse off than me in the big World out there
So heavily burdened by the life crosses they bear.

When the reaper from me the breath of life will take
And to the light of day i will never more wake
If i am buried or cremated i really do not care
Since of what will happen to me then i will not be aware.

From life's cares and worries I'll have found a release
For death to all people it brings with it peace
And it will not matter to me then where my remains will lay
Or if good or bad things of me others do say.
