I found love in the nick of time
problem was - it wasn't worth a dime
I found a friend when I needed one
problem was - yes it cost a ton

I found love on a two way street
wouldn't you know - that the ends don't meet
I found a friend that believed in me
wouldn't you know - it was a lie you see
I found a love that at first was good
friends told me what they knew I should
this new friend different from the rest
all I got was my life a mess

I found insanity and made it my friend
problem was - it just wouldn't end
I found loneliness can fill a hole
problem was - it was very cold

I found love on a two way street
wouldn't you know - she just ran over me
I found a friend who I believed was true
wouldn't you know - selfishness was all she knew
I found a love that at first was good
It left me laughing just where I stood
this new friend different from the rest
but it bled me dry in its cruel quest...
