(for Annelize)
It's such a bright beautiful sunny summer-day,
with tranquillity that comes on a Sunday
as if anything happens, with just the best waiting,
where roses, geraniums and lilies bloom lovely.
In such moments I do think of you
and how far away the fairest Cape now is.
I hear weavers gambol at their nests;
it's as if I miss you throughout my whole life.
I wish you could see the beauty right here,
know that sometimes love exists matchless
and where I do learn to trust God in all things,
you a thousand miles away do know me at heart
and now I pray you into my life,
not for forgiveness but to start over again.
