It's true, I've seen so many things!
Yes, almost every day.
And I confess what joy this brings!
In almost every way.
It's true, I've seen the eagles fly
And magpies near my home,
And country scenes that made me sigh
When on a train, I'd roam.
It's true, I've seen the pensioners
Who walk the streets so slow,
No longer as adventurers
As homeward bound, they go.
It's true, I've seen young maidens swim
At beaches far and wide,
Before the twilight hours dim
And all the maidens hide.
It's true, I've seen the stars above,
The monthly changing moon,
And daylight when it proves enough
That sunlight's coming soon.
It's true, I've seen the passing hours,
From dusk to dawn again,
A myriad of moving flowers
And fields of golden grain.
It's true, I've seen the spectacles
That God and Man have made,
And times God granted miracles
Because some saints have prayed.
I've seen the sparkling fountains,
I've seen the crystal streams,
I've seen God's mighty mountains
Awake and in my dreams.
I've seen some maidens in my time
Who took my breath away,
And yet your beauty's so sublime,
I fell in love today!
