I've Got This Off Pat Poem by Patrick Gribben

I've Got This Off Pat

I've got this off Pat;
it becomes me now
It's good to have a refrain. '
The heart of standing is that you cannot fly.'
The more choral, the more anthemic, the better. Very becoming, it is;
The heart of standing is you cannot fly Mandy.
The heart of standing is you cannot fly, Pat.
'Hi, I'm Mandy Flymo.'
To refrain: too gluey, too gooey
Al'iens ate my Munchies... and I did not protest. What you have is what you is;

What you possess becomes is.
Hot rats stole my soup... and I did not protest.
It's not too good to refrain.
To refrain: too gluey, too gooey
What you have is what you is.
What you possess becomes is.
Charles Handy boiled my frog slowly
.. and I did not protest.
It's not too good to refrain. To refrain: too gluey, too gooey
What you have is what you is.
What you possess becomes is.
What starts as process turns into event.
Often the victim cannot see the bends
The insidious rising bubbles
Very becoming it is
It's not too good to refrain. To refrain: too gluey, too gooey
What you have is what you is.
What you possess becomes is.
A dingo ate my kidneys
... and I did not protest
Where oh where has my billabong gone? I did not protest. I became a refrain -
too becoming, to refrained. Bugger me, where has my billabong gone? A dingo stole it... and I did not protest
The DoBe Brothers Possess and Process Happenings, happenstance Doing becomes substantive
I did not get where I am today It happened
I was processed, Milled, spun, refined Too, too refined Glued, gooey Frank Zappa whipped my soup
Glued, gooey Too, too refined Milled, spun, refined I was processed;
I became a present Process, process, process -
Event Become, becoming, gone Before you know where you are
I did not get where I am today It happened
The driver did not see the bend
Phillip kept a toad
and did protest; 'Hi, I'm compendious - rifle wmy drawers.' It'sgood to have a refrain, But you can refrain too long.
