I've lost my way, I cannot see
The path that is laid out for me -
The road set forth is dark, unclear
And fills my mind with so much fear
For though my eyes are fixed ahead
My heart is heavy with such dread -
Unsure of all that lies in wait
Afraid of what may be my fate
I long to see through all this veil
If I should win, or I should fail -
And what, for me, the future holds
What unsuspected truth unfolds
For I am old, beyond my prime
A victim of relentless time -
The world moves on and takes its toll
On ev-ry worn and ag'ed soul
The years ahead are dwindling fast
This time on earth, not meant to last -
The path before my eyes is blurred
The journey cannot be deferred
I've lost my way towards the end
And cannot see each twist or bend -
I hope the path is sure and sweet
With meadows soft beneath my feet
