Jagannath Darshan Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

Jagannath Darshan

A morning beginning with the darshan
Of Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra,
Taking of their names,
A tune breaking the morning ripples of silence
With the small-small bizarre idols
Seated in the complex
Adjacent to the sea beach
Telling of avatars and lilas,
Trends and traditions, rites and rituals
In continuity from yore.
And an evening enveloping with the arti
To rent the air with Jai Jagannath.
