Jan 25,1981 – Adele Astaire, American Dancer (B.1897) Makes Her Final Bow. Poem by Stuart Armor

Jan 25,1981 – Adele Astaire, American Dancer (B.1897) Makes Her Final Bow.

If you would have asked for the answer
which one was the better dancer,
the elder sister or younger brother,
it was the first born, not the other.
Don't get me wrong, this guy Fred
was very good, everyone said.
But the other Astaire, Miss Adele,
well she was known as one to excel.
Very few would dare presume
they were better than her in a ballroom.
There really is no room for quibbling,
she was just as good as her well known sibling,
in many styles of dance diverse,
and remember, she was moving in reverse.
