January Day Poem by Francis Duggan

January Day

It is a warm evening near forty degrees
And warmth in the sunshine and warmth in the breeze
That blow up the hill from the park by the bay
For January thus far the warmest day
Though the weather forecast has a cool change on the way
The beauty of Nature amazing to the eyes
Of millions of beautiful white butterflies
Above the garden flower beds and around the sunlit trees
Seemingly dancing in the evening breeze
In the shade of the trees cattle chewing their cuds lay
Like us for them it is too warm a day
To be out when the full sun is hot in the sky
On a day that is humid and warm and dry.
