January Day In The Moyne Shire Poem by Francis Duggan

January Day In The Moyne Shire

It has been another sunny and quite warm day
The tall grass in the paddocks the colour of hay
The creeks flowing at a trickle and bone dry every drain
The Moyne Shire it could do with some heavy rain
In the mostly sunny blue sky just a few clouds of gray
A warm wind blowing uphill from the saltwater bay
A weather temperature high for the day of a warm twenty two degrees
And the warm air full of the buzzing of bush flies and bees
Amazing to see so many white butterflies
And Nature's beauty as ever pleasing to the eyes
Either playing or fighting in the warm sunlight
In Nature there is many an amazing sight
And the song of the magpie lark always pleasant to hear
The bird who sings pee wee every day of the year.
