Jasmine Poem by Danny The Dreamer Boyd

Jasmine

Rating: 2.5

Enchant me with your fragrance, flower, now!
Yes, please! And captivate my every sense,
Behold me as I gaze at Providence!
And pardon, oh, the look upon my brow;
My breath is yours, endow or disallow; —
Who would have thought a kiss could be intense? —
I held you close, it was at my expense:
I can't let go—I know! —I do avow.
I love how you but picture-perfect seem,
Agleam, aglow upon the naked eye;
Oh, why! How many a fool could love you so?
But I your broken petals ideal deem;
Damn! Damaged stems make room for souls to show:
Which harden simple measures like goodbye!
