Je Persiste Poem by Tsani Jones

Je Persiste

Rating: 5.0

Do not weep for me
When I am gone.
For I shall fly where
Your heart rests and
Surround you there.

When you feel the
Kiss on your cheek
The second before
You bloom for the day,
That will be me.

When our songs
Play on an old Victorola
As the first twinge of loss
Is shaded by warmth,
That will be me.

When you feel a warm
Embrace encompass you
Before you surrender to night's call
In an empty bed,
That will be me.

And when I walk among the stars,
Witness a beauty of the brightest nebulae,
When a kiss of passion lasts
For ten thousand years,
That will be you.
