Jenny Poem by Francis Duggan

Jenny

She has bravely borne her crosses of sorrow and of life she does not despair
There is so much to admire about Jenny and people like her are so rare
When life got real tough she just hung in there she refused to surrender to grief
That everything happens for a reason in that she has a strong belief.

Her husband Jim and their only child sixteeen years old Johanna died in a car smash fifteen years ago
A tragedy that would break most people though mentally stronger from it she did grow
The two nearest and dearest to her heart from her life forever have gone
But tragedy she put behind her and bravely she has carried on

With the serious business of living to know her is a gift of joy
She always looks at life on the bright side she says there are worse off than I
The past she is not one to dwell on she makes the most of every day
A woman who loves life and laughter she laughs all of her cares away.

She has chosen not to remarry the life she knows now she enjoy
She accepts the loss of her loved ones she says that how they were meant to die
A woman in her mid to late fifties and rather lovely to behold
Her shoulder length hair graying from the Seasons though she certainly doesn't look that old.
