Jesus And The Samaritan Woman Poem by Dr. Antony Theodore

Jesus And The Samaritan Woman

The disciples happened
upon Jesus talking
to the Samaritan woman.

He had sent them
into town to get
some food while
He rested at the well.

When they came back,
Jesus was telling
the woman
who to worship.

This both alarmed
and confused
the disciples.
First, a Jewish
Rabbi rarely
talked to a woman
who wasn't his
wife alone.

Second, she was
a Samaritan, and
Jews didn't associate
with them at all
because they
were considered unclean.

For Jesus to be
doing both
blew their minds.
