Jesus Is Poem by Randy McClave

Jesus Is

Jesus wasn't white, or a Christian or an American
He wasn't a racist or a bigot or a Republican,
He wasn't wealthy or uncaring or greedy
Jesus supported the poor and the sick and the needy.
Jesus never hated the person, the sinner
With them he even had dinner,
Instead he just hated the sin
Which many keeps and hides deep within.
Jesus told us to turn the other cheek
Which made us strong and caring and not weak,
And he told us to always love our neighbor
Jesus is our Lord, our master and our savior.
Our Lord wasn't a political crowd pleaser
He said give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar,
He led his followers with his shepherd's rod
And he said to give to God, what belongs to God.
Jesus spoke this as well
Those will be in danger of judgement in hell,
Whoever is angry with their brother or sister
Who wishes upon them pain, suffering maybe even a blister.
Jesus said, to the disciples when they did meet
I was hungry and you gave me something to eat,
I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink
About that act you didn't have to think.
"I was a stranger", Jesus he said, "and you invited me inside"
You treated me with honor, kindness and pride,
I needed clothes and then you gave me clothes to wear
You made the soul joyful and happy with care.
"I was sick", said the Lord, "and then you looked after me"
I was in prison and you came to visit constantly,
When you do these deeds for others
You do them also for me because, we all are sisters and brothers.
Remember, what our Lord Jesus has said
From the Bible it is taught and it is also read,
Jesus taught us all of forgiveness, salvation and love
That's who Jesus still is, and always was.
