Jim Of Camperdown Poem by Francis Duggan

Jim Of Camperdown

Rating: 5.0

It has been awhile since his hair was light brown
The balding old fellow Jim of Camperdown
A well travelled fellow of Camperdown Town
Though he will tell you that this is not a claim to renown
One who has seen the big World and cities far from home
He has been to London and New York, Hong Kong, Paris and Rome
He has been to Rio, Buenos Aires,Cape Town and L A
Far from where he first looked on the bright lamp of day
But he has returned to Camperdown to stay

The Town where he lived in and left near his physical prime
Where he now hopes to reside in until life's reaper on his life does call time
Six times a grandfather divorced by his wife
In his late seventies without a partner in his life
But he is quite content growing old on his own
In his old hometown where he is well liked and well known
Where he used to live when his hair was light brown
In the south western Victoria Town of Camperdown.
