John Deere Homes Poem by John McCornack

John Deere Homes

Early day pioneers could make a living with
A team of mules and a good 160 acre farm
They could provide their family with clothes
Along with much love and a good red barn

With technology, farmers could not survive
without buying a big John Deere machine
This style of farming required more land
Abandon homes then became the routine
