Joint Habitant: Essayez, Essayez Donc! Poem by Dennis Ryan

Joint Habitant: Essayez, Essayez Donc!

February 14,2005

- for Cici Denegre and my son Shawn Ryan

"These arms are my heart."
- Lara Fabian, "Part of Me"

Are we any less friends because we met by accident
in another land under trying circumstances?
Are we not still, as I learned from you, joint habitants?
Friend, I want you to know that our dreams cross paths daily,
more often than you know, and they say "join hands, "
"believe, " "hope, ""don't give up, " "don't give in."
I don't know how to say these things in your language,
but, joint habitant, it isn't time for you to inhabit
a separate realiry: Essayez, essayez donc!
