Jonquil Poem by james watkin

Jonquil

By the steps, dear, but
Not too many.
To smell, not so near the house.
Enough they've outdone, in sun's
Indecent glee

Betrothal's rare blush!
And given cause
To deride, almost, in spouse
In the sun-kissed hours, each sweet
Unspoken pause!
