Jordyn - Poem by Lawerence Mize, Sr.
A bundle of joy
came my way.
Met baby Jordyn
on her very first day.
Her arrival came
a little past eleven.
This tiny baby
straight from heaven.
She had all her fingers
and all of her toes.
A full head of hair.
She was ready to show.
Heart skipped a beat
looking into her eyes.
So tiny and frail.
So happy I could cry.
I wish for her
all things great.
Hope she knows only love.
Pray she never learns to hate.
So welcome to the world
you precious little thing.
The old man is here waiting.
Poppy's my name.
