When one is young-
before young Lives have yet flung-
We all know the journey we'll take,
Our friends will remain young-
We'll sing the same songs-
And frolic in youths'
perennial-gleamed Lake.
But then we get older-
Make new friends and lives-
No longer are we who we once were,
Digest more complicated fodder-
For the living is harder-
And Life whirls from unchanging
To surprising new swirls.
Now that I am older
My journey's near ending-
past tracks always changing-
but always unpredictable and profound,
My life's been a tender-
invoked by my Sender-
With my journeys less a straight line-
but a ramble.
And final trails?
Well, they at length-
eventually all come round.
