Judgement Day Poem by Tharindu Atukorala

Judgement Day

Trembling I walk slowly behind
Nervous and scared not knowing why
They take their seats so at ease
I take my seat, a lions den I feel

I raise my eyes and look to see
Many eyes looking at me
Every cell shaking within
I put on a smile, breathing in

Old and young all alike
Direct and crossed, its question time
All is quiet, it’s digesting time
I believe, angels are passing by

The jury stands, its time to go
All rise, my heart in my throat
I wonder when, I’m summoned again
For Judgment day is done for today

An insightful and poignant bit of verse well articulated and nicely brought forth with conviction. Thanks for sharing, Tharindu.
