Just Another Day Poem by Lenny Camacho

Today was just another day
in which I ate and drank and worried
(as opposed to some Holy words I once read) :
I also prepared for lasting til tomorrow;
today I talked myself out of suicide
while holding a knife to my throat;
today was just another day;
my survival was accomplished
either corage or cowardice was evident
only to me then,
and now to whomever took time
to walk into my soul unnanounced
by reading these words.
