Just Another Song Poem by Bryan Taplits

Just Another Song

So lovely was the lilt
So dear a memory
The melody became you love
Yes, both were dear to me.
Although it happened long ago
We met-and then you left,
My heart a broken steeple bell
No ring, a toll: Bereft.
Alone, I heard your song just yesterday
Conveying all not wrong
In my mind's ear I still hear it. But you didn't stop-
you scudded right along.
Remarkable!
-the sun's rays shone and played-and I still navigated my way-
I realized then recognized-that
…You were just another song.
