Just Because Poem by Jennifer Peckins

Just Because

Just because I cry
Don’t think I’m weak
Don’t think I’m not screaming
Though I silently speak

Just because I cry
Doesn’t mean my tears are red
Doesn’t mean I like being alone
Or hiding at night in my bed

Just because I cry
I don’t try to change the past
I don’t regret every word I said
And growing up too fast

Just because I cry
Never be afraid to tell me the truth
Never follow my eyes when I gaze at the stars
Or leave me to fade away on the roof

Just because I cry – I know I’m alive
