Just Forget It Poem by Alice Shaw

Just Forget It

Rating: 5.0

Just forget it,
Delete it from memory
And don’t think about it
It’s not possible
What a shame
I’ve spoiled it all
I regret it
But regrets won’t change anything
They might make it worse for me,
But that’s all they’ll do.

Life could’ve been better
Had there not been mistakes
But you learn from them,
Or so they say.
I thought so too
But I’m not quite so sure now
I repeat the same mistakes
Over and over again
But what do I gain from them
Except indescriptible pain?

You had the power to hurt me
You used it
You had the power to kill me
You used it
You had the power to make me smile
You destroyed it
And now what’s left of me?

A shape, a body
But it doesn’t smile
It hasn’t moved
Since you came near
What was in it.

I sense hurt and rejection and an awful lot of questions needing answers, time and self belief are great healers voted regards Chris
