Just What You Mean To Me Poem by Jennifer Sollmann

Just What You Mean To Me

The fog obscures
The truth hides
Behind the dew
You fail to see
Just what you mean to me
I blindly struggle
Against the abyss
Fighting for you to know
To not know
Indecision
It’s better off this way
Splendid mist
Fades away
To reveal
My heart
Oh, close your eyes
Open your heart
Offer your embrace
Freely I give of me
I jump in hope
That you catch me
Before the blue
Swallows me
Crashes over me
Drowning
Before you realize
The sun won’t rise
I’m gone, you see
And along with me
Warm rays of love
Explode inside
Erupt in loss
The flower fades
Pollen is lost
Your eyes
Develop a misty shroud
I fail to see
Just what you mean to me
