there will be a day
when all life's troubles will seem far away
and your whole heart will be on line, you'll stay
and you'll say,
'I love you'

but even then
how can I promise that I'll be there
I know not where
but I must be going
I just keep going
soon I'll be gone
and on
and on
and on
and...

there will be a day
when naught but dust lies in the entryway
forgotten footsteps left to where they lay
and they say
'I love you'
